Bonjour! Is this France? Nope, it’s Corn Cob Academy and there is a new substitute who wants everybody to play by her French rules. Should the students listen to her? Or is it time the system changed? See if our four students are able to navigate dictatorship and anarchy while dealing with the emotional complexities of being 9. Bonsoir!

Cast:

Annie: Teacher’s pet. Filled to the brim with passion and lists. Where will she empty her kettle?

Peter: Roblox Dress to Impress streamer. Sweet like strawberries in the summertime.

Natalie: She goes hard. Sassy. Standoffish? Cool. Everyone wants to be her when they grow up and she’s only 9!

Johnny: Saw a double rainbow once and stopped wishing because he became content with life simply existing in the moment.

Principal: Always out of breath. So much paperwork, and sorry he can’t say anything else because budget cuts and teacher shortage and the district have all been screwing him over.

The role of Mademoiselle has already been cast.

Rehearsals will take place a few days a week starting in May.

Performances are Saturdays and Sundays at 11AM (10AM call time for actors) from May 2nd through 17th (6 shows)

Pay: $50 stipen

​

Auditions will take place on Sunday, March 29th at Cornservatory Theater (4210 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60618)
