A Two Man Show
Saturdays at 11 p.m. | January 6 - 20
Formed through the alliance of shared cynicism, nostalgia for their California hometowns, and a passion for the music of “Heart,” Tangerine is the combination of Vinny Tangherlini and Tim Green and has been bringing joy and laughter to thousands, if not, hundreds of people since these two hit the streets of Chicago (yes, Tim and Vinny often perform on street corners, much to the chagrin of their parents). Biting wit and all-too-real caricatures of daily life abound in their single scene, long form improvisation.
Each week Tangerine: A Two-Man Show will feature an opening indie teams of friends from around the city (yes, Tim and Vinny have other friends, much to the chagrin of themselves) performing their own specific brand of improvised comedy, followed by Tangerine’s joyful plunge into the depths of the purgatory of their lives and back. Through one extended improvised scene, Vinny and Tim will put one relationship under the microscope, exposing the eccentricities and dark secrets under the surface. Making full use of the intricate and multifaceted stage at Cornservatory, the show you see each week will be at times saddening, at others uplifting, but always (hopefully) hilarious!
