Storefront Theater Musical

If Disney can do it…Corn can skew it!  Corn Productions is proud to give the people what they want…nay what they NEED…a parody of High School Musical!  But wait there’s more!  Not only do we mock all things HSM, we take pointed jabs at a beloved Chicago theater tradition… Storefront Theater (yes, we realize we are also a storefront theater, but who better to mock us, than us!)  Put it all together and what do you get…Storefront Theater Musical!

Storefront Theater Musical revolves around the Upstage Theater, a small storefront theater, which is being shut down by the city unless they fix the code violations (sound familiar?)  The Upstage Theater is shared by three theater companies, an improv troupe, Picasso's Missing Ear; a company that focuses on dramas, The Really Realistic Realism Theater company; and the drag camp musical company, L'eggs in a Basket.  They don't get along, but in order to save the theater they need to work together and hold a benefit to raise funds to fix the violations.

Meanwhile, our star crossed lovers, Trent Nutten - a member of the improv troupe whose Coach is Trent's Father, Igot - and Jillianana Ethnica - a member of the RRR whose mother is the artistic director, DeDaDo – meet at a summer stock theater where they both are interns and share a love of....singing - gasp!!   They meet back in Chicago at the Upstage Theater only to find out each others family and theater affiliations and must keep there love of singing…and perhaps of each other…a secret, but end up auditioning for the benefit performance anyway...and wackiness ensues!

Of course there is a prerequisite plot to keep them apart, of course there is loads of singing and dancing and dribbling the skulls of Yorick (ya gotta see it to believe it) and of course there are Ninjas!!!  (what storefront theater production doesn't have Ninjas…seriously…name one)   Will Trent and Jillianana get together?  Will the Upstage Theater be saved?  Will it all be wrapped up in a pretty albeit overly dramatic box with a nice Disneyesque bow? (what are the odds…hmmmmm)  Wanna find out?  Then join us for Storefront Theater Musical!
